MotoGP 2017 season review

d179c208

The crowds pack the banks and grandstands expecting their favorite riders to triumph. The riders expect to be able to use skill and bravery to make up for some shortcomings of their bike, but they also expect to suffer on top speed if they are down on horsepower. The manufacturers expect to showcase their engineering prowess, at a circuit which demands the utmost of their machine in almost every aspect.

The bike has to brake well, turn well, accelerate well, and be so fast it takes your breath away. Something which the front straight at Mugello does quite literally at MotoGP speeds. Were expectations fulfilled this year at Mugello?

The Dutch TT of Assen is hoped to be a sort of recovery race for Team SUZUKI ECSTAR after the struggles of Montmelo. This magical circuit in Denthe province is a masterpiece amongst the technical.

Such a big boost in morale, added to the trademark determination of the combative young rider, should be enough to see him amongst the frontrunners once again. The tireless work of Team Gresini Moto2 in preparing technical updates for the Moriwaki MD are bearing fruit and Yuki Takahashi is also keen to ride it to its full potential this weekend.

The Japanese rider is looking to build on his current position of third in the championship. Yuki Takahashi “I am a little disappointed that I couldn’t pick up a few more points at Silverstone for the championship but basically a poor start prevented that. I still came away from England with renewed confidence in the bike and I am sure we can do well at Assen. Podiums and wins are my main objective and I will be pushing as hard as possible to make them happen, without losing sight of the championship.
